
ECONOMYNEXT – Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Kristalina Georgieva has congratulated Sri Lanka’s President Anura Dissanayake on his election and reaffirmed the IMF’s commitment to remaining a strong partner to Sri Lanka.
In a letter to Dissanayake, Georgieva “Expressed her hope to further strengthen the mutually beneficial relationship between the two parties,” the president’s media division said.
“Georgieva assured President Dissanayake of the IMF’s full support in helping Sri Lanka achieve its development and reform goals.”
The review of the IMF program on June data, was due in October. Following the presidential election in September, general elections are to be held on November 14. (Colombo/Sep25/2024)
