CMA CGM applies surcharges on cargo from India, Sri Lanka, Middle East Gulf

French ocean carrier CMA CGM has notified its customers of an Overweight Surcharge (OWS), effective from 1 October 2024 until further notice.

The surcharge will apply to shipments originating from India, Sri Lanka, Middle East Gulf & Djibouti, destined for North Europe (incl. Scandinavia, Poland, Baltic), East & West Mediterranean, Adriatic, Black Sea & North Africa (incl. Morocco).

The surcharge will be USD 100 per 20′ dry with a container gross weight above 22 tons.

Meanwhile, the company has also notified its customers of a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS06) implementation, effective from November 1st, 2024 (gate-in date) until further notice.

The surcharge will apply to shipments originating from the Indian Subcontinent, Middle East Gulf, Red Sea and Egypt, destined for US East Coast and US Gulf.

The surcharge will be USD 1,000 per unit of all cargo.
