ECONOMYNEXT – The Colombo Stock Exchange closed up on Wednesday, data on its site showed.
The broader ASPI closed up 0.47 percent, or 57.43 points, at 12,357; while the more liquid S&P SL20 Index closed up 0.95 percent, or 34.60 points, at 3,663.
Turnover was 2.3 billion.
Top turnover generators were John Keells Holdings (up at 203.00), Sampath Bank (up at 84.00), Commercial Bank (up at 110.25), Hayleys (up at 103.00), and Hemas Holdings (up at 81.00)
Crossings were recorded on Commercial Bank, Sampath Bank, Hayleys, JKH, Hemas, Ambeon Holdings (down at 14.20), Sunshine Holdings (up at 66.40), and Central Finance Company (up at 123.00).
There was a net foreign inflow of 118 million rupees.
Foreign buying interest was seen in Commercial, JKH, Sampath, Richard Pieris and Co (up at 22.00), Lanka IOC (down at 112.25), and Ceylon Grain Elevators (up at 170.50).
Foreign selling was seen in Hayleys, Convenience Foods (up at 750.50), LVL Energy Fund (up at 5.90), Ceylon Cold Stores (up at 61.30), Union Assurance (down at 54.50), and People’s Leasing and Finance (13.00). (Colombo/Oct23/2024)
